The online 'driving at work' policy document

The HSE has clarified the requirements of employers in relation to 'Managing at Work Road Safety' (see www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg382.pdf).

In simple terms, every firm requiring an employee to use a vehicle in the course of employment has the same duty under the Health and Safety at Work Act to provide a written safety policy and provide appropriate training and guidance to ensure the vehicle is a safe ‘place’ to work.

‘Fleetsafe’ accesses an annual licence for an online ‘Driving at work’ policy document, which is updated continuously to reflect any changes in legislation. Each company will be able to personalise the document to reflect individual company requirements with the ability to print multiple copies or link into a company intranet.

The Driving at Work Policy comes with a Management Guide containing helpful notes and guidance on the policy, plus appendices of sample forms, checklists and driver/management guidelines. In all it comprises of: -
