Fountains Plc
Paul Concannon, fleet and purchasing manager at Fountains Plc, received the Fleet News Fleet Manager of the Year award in the 101-400 vehicles category in March 2004.

Despite intense competition, Paul was a clear winner in the hard-fought category for his immense achievements in the past 18 months in partnership with Active Risk Management, using a 'change nothing, improve everything' policy to produce real-world savings and improve efficiency.

Paul said, "Claims involving those people who had participated in the ARM driver training programme reduced significantly."

Warton Freight Services
Since implementing the ARM risk management programme 2 years ago, Warton Freight Services has seen dramatic results.

In 2002 the claims experience was £250k with a fleet size of 40 vehicles. Once drivers were trained and systems were put in place, the insurance costs were halved. At renewal, the insurance premium was reduced to £30k.

MD, Steven Barclay said, "We have been delighted with the results and are continuing with our programme."
